iPad Restriction Allowance (For the parents/guaridans)

Turning on Content & Privacy Restrictions on your child’s iPad is a good idea to help keep inappropriate material being accessed on their device either inadvertently or other. But sometimes this causes problems with resources we need students to access. To resolve this issue we ask that you add a few website addresses to the list of allowed websites on your child’s iPad - only if Content & Privacy Restrictions are turned on.

  1. Select the Settings App
  2. In the left pane select Screen Time
  3. In the right pane select Content and Privacy Restrictions
  4. Select Content Restrictions
  5. Select Web Content
  6. Select Limit Adult Websites
  7. In the ALWAYS ALLOW section below, select Add Website
  8. Enter the following address: (tap in the box below then select Copy - if the Copy option doesn't appear, swipe up or down the page and the option should appear)

  9. Select < Web Content to go back to the previous screen
  10. Select Add Website again
  11. Enter the following address: (tap in the box below then select Copy - if the Copy option doesn't appear, swipe up or down the page and the option should appear)

  12. Select < Web Content to go back to the previous screen
  13. Select Add Website again
  14. Enter the following address: (tap in the box below then select Copy - if the Copy option doesn't appear, swipe up or down the page and the option should appear)

  15. Select < Web Content to go back to the previous screen
  16. Select Add Website again
  17. Enter the following address: (tap in the box below then select Copy - if the Copy option doesn't appear, swipe up or down the page and the option should appear)

  18. Select < Web Content to go back to the previous screen
  19. Select Screen Time from the left pane and you’re done

iPad Help

Below you'll find help troubleshooting school related iPad issues.

General

What is Meraki and why does my iPad have Meraki Management?

Show / Hide

At Mercy College, we use Cisco Meraki Device Management to help manage some basic settings on all iPads. We install a few links to the most visited sites students need for printing, checking their ID card balance, viewing the tuckshop menu and more. We can also help students with forgotten passcodes and sometimes help find lost iPads. Lastly, we are able to push apps to the iPads, with the permission of the iPad owner. The student owned iPads are not in Supervised mode so we only have very basic functionally.

Mercy College also has a Cisco Meraki WiFi system that works hand in hand with the Device Management system. This give us insights into problem areas on our WiFi network and helps find unusual traffic that may be causing issues.

What are O Drive and V Drive?

Show / Hide

O Drive and V Drive are both storage locations at Mercy College where files are stored when using the computer labs. Your teacher will show you how to save and retrieve files from these drives.

O Drive

O Drive is used to submit files to your teacher or retrieve files from them. When you connect to O Drive you will see two folders:

  • Distribution - This is where teachers will sometimes put resources or work for you. Once inside the Distribution folder, find the folder with the teacher's name.
  • Submission - This is where teachers will sometimes ask you to put your work. Once inside the Submission folder, find the folder with the teacher's name.

V Drive

V Drive is your own personal storage space at Mercy College where you can store or backup your files. Once inside V Drive you will see folders named as years. Your folder is the year that you started year 8 (or will start year 8 if in year 7). Then you need to open the folder named with your school username.

Browsing the Internet

When you browse the internet at Mercy College, you'll be prompted with a CEnet login screen.

Unlocking your iPad
